Dear Friends and Family, especially in Barrie, ON and surrounding areas. We would like to bring to your attention a bitter-sweet fact: The Ontario Government is working hard to regulate home inspectors and protect consumers from less-qualified inspectors. BUT they've been at it for four years already and we have at least two more years to wait. Did you know the City of Barrie is the only Ontario municipality (that we are aware of) to require Home Inspectors to be licensed? Not just a permit either.... it requires annual police record checks, business insurance and membership with our Provincial Association (which governs education and is chartered through Ontario legislation). There are ONLY SEVEN home inspection companies that carry the City of Barrie licence, Home Inspection Right Away is one of them. I'm glad Barrie leads the way - but hopefully the province will have sharper teeth since Barrie only licenses seven of some 30 or 70 (or however many we have coming in from all over the place) home inspection companies.
