After retiring from a fulfilling dental hygiene career with a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics in 2013, Doris went out on her own to work more closely with individual clients. Along with her 34+ years of experience and the Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy course, she is now helping children to stop thumb and finger sucking, provide effective therapies to repattern facial muscles including the tongue to achieve ideal facial growth and development of the face and airway. Buteyko Breathing Therapy became a logical stop after the Myofunctional Therapy course since children need to nose breathe all the time, but what if they have a blocked nose? The training in BBT gave her the skills to assist children and also provided education for adults who wish to feel healthier and "get back their life" again. The therapy has assisted many people from anxiety, asthma, snoring and sleep apnoea. It's so basic and so overlooked by the medical community and is a breath of fresh air for those who are looking for a more holistic way to achieve optimal health.
